Create a new View Designer project

Create a new
View Designer
 project file to develop a runtime application for a
PanelView
 5000 HMI device.
To create a new
View Designer
 project
  1. Select
    New Project
    .
  2. In the
    Project Types
    column, Select
    View
    .
  3. Expand the categories and select a
    PanelView
     5000 HMI device.
  4. In the
    Name
    box, type a name, up to 40 characters, for the project file.
    TIP:
    Project file names must comply with the IEC-61131 Name standard.
  5. (optional) In the
    Location
    box, type or browse to a location to store the project file. By default, projects are saved to <user>\My Documents\Studio 5000\Projects.
  6. Select
    Finish
    .
    View Designer
     creates and uses the file extension .vpd for user-created projects.
    TIP:
    A red outline around a box indicates an invalid entry. Hover over the box to display a tooltip with additional information explaining why the entry is invalid. Update invalid entries before saving the new project.
