Controller Organizer folders

The
Controller Organizer
window contains a hierarchical tree of the folders, files, and links that contain all of the information about the programs and data in the current project. For additional information about

The table describes the folders that appear by default in the
Controller Organizer
directory structure.
Folder
Description
Controller Project Name
Contains controller-scoped tags, the controller fault handler, and the power up handler.
Tasks
Contains tasks. Each task contains its own programs with routines (ladder, function block, sequential function chart, structured text), and program-scoped tags.
Motion Groups
Contains groups of associated axes.
Ungrouped Axes
contains axes that have yet to be assigned to any axis group. You can assign these axes to specific motion groups with the
Axis Assignment
tab of the
Motion Group Properties
dialog box.
Alarms
Contains tag-based alarms for tags and configured alarm definitions for Add-On Instructions and user-defined data types.
TIP:
Tag-based alarms are supported only on Compact GuardLogix 5380. CompactLogix 5380, CompactLogix 5480, ControlLogix 5580, and GuardLogix 5580 controllers.
Assets
Contains these project assets in sub-folders:
  • Add-On Instructions--Contains Add-On Instructions, their routines, and tag collections.
  • Data Types--Lists
    User-Defined
    ,
    String
    ,
    Add-On-Defined
    ,
    Predefined
    , and
    Module-Defined
    data types.
    Add-On-Defined
    data types are associated with
    Add-On Instructions
    . User-defined data types are created in this sub-folder.
  • Trends--Contains trends. A trend is a set of one or more tags for which sample data is desired. Trend data samples are collected by sampling the set of tags over a period of time in the controller.
I/O Configuration
Contains the information about the hardware configuration of this controller project. It holds a hierarchy of modules with which the controller is configured to communicate.
