Apply substitutions to a symbol

After the symbol has been added, review the XML code in the

Source

panel of the

Properties

column.

Highlight the item to be replaced, then right-click it and select

Apply Substitution

. The

Substitution Builder

dialog box opens with the highlighted text automatically placed in the

Original Text

box.

Click in the

Replacement

box and enter the text to use instead of the original text. To use a calculated value as the replacement value, click the ellipsis (...) to open the Expression Builder window and create an expression.

Click

OK

to apply the substitution to the current symbol.

The substitution is listed in the

Substitutions

folder for use with other symbols.
