Tag modifier

The "S#" modifier forces a specific server, the primary server (

,S1

) or the secondary server (

,S2

), to fulfill data requests in a redundant server configuration regardless of which server is active. Use the ",S#" modifier to define the FactoryTalk Linx data server or FactoryTalk Linx OPC UA Connector server to receive the tag value. This modifier is useful for obtaining server status predefined items.

For example,

[New_Shortcut]@OPC_ServerEndpoint,S1

In this example,

@OPC_ServerEndpoint

will be accessed through the primary FactoryTalk Linx data server. Without the "S#" modifier, the tag value in a redundant system will be accessed through the currently active server. This modifier works with all shortcut types and can be used to access server status information, even when the server is inactive.
