Enable CIP Security communication

The
Logix Designer
 application supports
CIP Security
. However, its default communications software is RSLinx® Classic. To enable
CIP Security
 communication with controllers,
FactoryTalk Linx
 must be selected as the communications software.
  1. Open the
    Logix Designer
     application.
  2. Close any open projects.
  3. On the menu, select
    Communications
    Select Communication Software
    .
  4. In
    Select Communication Software
    , select
    FactoryTalk Linx
    , and select
    OK
    .
    A verification message appears with information that
    FactoryTalk Linx
     does not support some controllers.
  5. Select
    OK
    .
