Localize engineering units for legacy recipe ingredients
Configure legacy recipe ingredients so that the legacy recipes editor localizes
engineering units based on the measurement system selected for the session.
- Import controller tags that contain the ingredient values. For more information, see Configure a communication driver.
- Configure variables for the legacy recipe ingredients that provide the source engineering units for localization:
- InProject view, in theModelfolder, create a subfolder for legacy recipe ingredients. For example, create aRecipeVarsfolder in theModelfolder. For more information, see Create a folder.
- Create numeric variables in the folder you created in 2.a to mirror the legacy recipe ingredients. For more information, see Create a variable.
- For each variable, set the engineering unit that matches the controller tag value and add a range if needed.TIP: The engineering unit on the variable is the source unit for localization and must match the unit used by the controller tag value. To map source units to different measurement systems, see Configure measurement systems map.For more information, see Set the unit of measure for a variable and Add a range to a variable.
- Create a dynamic link from each variable to the corresponding imported controller tag.For more information, see Create dynamic links.
- Configure a legacy recipe schema that uses the variables from 2 as ingredients. For more information, see Configure a legacy recipe schema.
- Configure the legacy recipes editor, select the legacy recipe schema, and runExecute Setupto create the ingredient rows in the UI.For more information, see Configure a legacy recipes editor. The legacy recipes editor includes generated rows for the configured ingredients.
- Configure localization for each numeric legacy recipe ingredient. For an example on how to configure labels with localized engineering units, see Develop a label with a localized engineering unit.
The legacy recipes editor displays the configured ingredient values with engineering
units localized to the measurement system selected for the session.
To use the localized ingredients at runtime, see Manage legacy recipes at runtime.
