Electronic batch records
An electronic batch record is a history of the creation of a batch of material. Among
other uses, this record is for regulatory and reporting purposes. The ISA S88.01
Standard defines batch history as a collection of data describing or related to a
batch.
For every batch executed,
FactoryTalk® Batch
Server creates and
maintains an electronic batch record during the execution of the batch procedure.
The record is accessible from FactoryTalk Batch View
.Each record entry includes fields based on event types. Data is in ASCII format and
may represent time, integer, real number, string, or enumerations. As events occur
during batch execution, the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server appends data to the
batch record.FactoryTalk Batch
stores the electronic batch data in a simple ASCII format
file (.evt
) or in an enhanced JSON Lines-based format
(.evtj
). View batch data with a text editor, word
processor, or spreadsheet application.
TIP:
There will be no updates or enhancements to the tab delimited event journal
format (
*.evt
). The enhanced JSON Lines-based format
(*.evtj)
replaces it. A future release will remove the
option to use the legacy EVT format. If using FactoryTalk Batch
version
16.00 or later, move to the new EVTJ format.See the
