Channels view parameters (thermocouple devices)

The
Channels
view for thermocouple devices includes these parameters:
TIP:
Parameters are disabled in Run mode.
Parameter
Description
Channel
Displays the channel number to which this configuration applies.
Input Type
Indicates the
Thermocouple
input type.
Input Range
Indicates the input range as -75 mV to 75 mV.
High Signal
Displays the high signal value.
Low Signal
Displays the low signal value.
Units (Signal)
Shows the unit of measurement for
High Signal
and
Low Signal
.
High Engineering
Choose the appropriate scaling high units. Set the value between -32768 and 32767. The default value is 1000.
High Engineering
is disabled in Run mode and when
Temperature Unit
is set to one of these values:
  • Celsius
  • Fahrenheit
  • Kelvin
  • Rankine
Low Engineering
Choose the appropriate scaling low units. Set a value between -32768 and 32767. The default value is 0.
Low Engineering
is disabled in Run mode and when
Temperature Unit
is set to one of these values:
  • Celsius
  • Fahrenheit
  • Kelvin
  • Rankine
Units (Engineering)
Shows the unit of measurement for
High Engineering
and
Low Engineering
and for the channel’s input value.
Digital Filter
Specifies the desired filter time constant, in milliseconds (ms). Set the value between 0 (default) and 10,000.
Cold Junction Enable
Enables or disables the Cold Junction sensor for the channel by selecting or clearing the checkbox.
Cold Junction Offset
Specifies the value for the Cold Junction offset to determine what value is added to the cold junction input during the temperature calculation. Cold Junction offset compensates for the inaccuracies of the Cold Junction sensor.
Select a value between 0.00 (default) and 70.00.
Cold Junction Offset
is disabled in Run mode and when the Cold Junction sensor is disabled.
Disable Alarms
Determines whether process alarms are generated.
  • If selected, the device does not generate process alarms.
  • If cleared, the device generates process alarms.
Cold Junction Notch Filter
Specifies the desired filter frequency for the Cold Junction sensor.
Select a value of
50Hz
or
60Hz
(default).
Cold Junction Mode
Specifies the Cold Junction mode. Available values are:
  • None
  • Channel 0
    (default)
  • Channel 1
  • Average Both
