The
Safety
tab includes these parameters:Parameter | Description |
Safety Input - Requested Packet Interval (RPI) (ms) | Enter the RPI for the safety input connection. For simple timing constraints, set the Connection Reaction Time Limit solely by adjusting the RPI, as necessary. For more complex timing constraints, set the Connection Reaction Time Limit by using the Advanced button to access the necessary parameters. |
Safety Input - Connection Reaction Time Limit (ms) | Displays the predicted maximum period of safety packets on the safety input connection. If the Max Observed Connection Reaction Time exceeds the Connection Reaction Time Limit, a connection fault occurs. |
Safety Input - Max Observed Network Delay (ms) | Displays the value generated by the controller for safety input (and safety consume) connections. The default value is 0. The Max Observed Network Delay value is updated automatically at a rate similar to the rate used by the Max Scan Time. This value is blank when working offline. The value is ?? when the status is Faulted or Connecting. |
Safety Input - Max Observed Network Delay Reset | Click to reset the Max Connection Reaction Time value in the controller (for input connections). This field appears dimmed in Offline mode or when online and the status is not Running. Contact your network administrator or the Network Information Center for a unique IP address to assign to your module. |
Safety Output - Requested Packet Interval (RPI) (ms) | Displays the RPI for the safety output connection. The RPI is fixed to the Safety Task Period. If the Connection Reaction Time Limit is not acceptable, either the Safety Task Period must be adjusted (via the Safety Task Properties view) or adjust the Advanced Connection Reaction Time Limit to attempt to achieve the needed time limit. |
Safety Output - Connection Reaction Time Limit (ms) | Displays the predicted maximum period of safety packets on the safety output connection. If the Max Observed Connection Reaction Time exceeds the Connection Reaction Time Limit, a connection fault occurs. |

Advanced | Click to access the Advanced Connection Reaction Time Limit Configuration dialog box to configure the connection reaction time limit. |
Configuration Ownership | Indicates whether the current controller owns the configuration of the current module. The value is read directly from the module and is available only online. When working offline, the label appears dimmed and a value does not appear. The value is updated when you open the dialog and when you change to or from Run mode.

Reset Ownership | Click to open the Reset Ownership confirmation dialog box. If the reset ownership is confirmed, the module enters its out-of-box configuration. The module is not owned. It becomes owned by the first originator that successfully configures the module. If the module has connections or has been locked from RSNetWorx for DeviceNet, the reset prompt is rejected. This field is enabled when safety secured to support the module replacement option. This field appears dimmed when pending edits exist in the module properties or when working offline. |
Copy | Click this toggle to alternatively copy the Configuration Signature ID value. |
Configuration Signature: ID | Displays the unique number generated each time the module configuration is updated via the Module Properties dialog. |
Configuration Signature: Date | Displays the date on which the configuration of the module is updated in such a way that it alters safety-related parameters. |
Configuration Signature: Time | Displays the time at which the configuration of the module is updated in such a way that it alters safety-related parameters. |
