Use the
Channel
(where X = 0 or 1) view to configure the serial protocol characteristics for the channel.X
The
Channel
(where X = 0 or 1) view includes these parameters:X
Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
Baud Rate | Specifies the communication rate for the serial port. Available options for Generic ASCII, Modbus Master, and Modbus Slave are:
Available options for DF1 Point to Point, DF1 Master, DF1 Slave, and DF1 Radio Modem are:
Available options for DH485 are:
|
Data Bits | Specifies the number of bits of data per character. Available options are:
For DF1 Point to Point, DF1 Master, DF1 Slave, DF1 Radio Modem and DH485 protocols, Data Bits is disabled and set to 8. |
Parity | Specifies the parity of the transmitted data to verify data integrity. Available options are:
Available options for DF1 Point to Point, DF1 Master, DF1 Slave, and DF1 Radio Modem are:
For DH485 protocol, Parity is disabled and set to Even . |
Stop Bits | Specifies the number of stop bits for each data value sent. Available options are:
For DF1 Point to Point, DF1 Master, DF1 Slave, DF1 Radio Modem, and DH485 protocols, Stop Bits is disabled and set to 1. |
Serial Media | Determines whether the media connected to the channel's serial port is RS-232C , RS-422 , RS-485 . The default is RS-232C.Available options for Generic ASCII, Modbus Master, Modbus Slave, DF1 Master and DF1 Slave are:
Available options for DF1 Point to Point and DF1 Radio Modem are:
Available options for DH485 are:
|
Duplex | Specifies the handshaking used by channel. Available options for Generic ASCII, Modbus Master, and Modbus Slave are:
Available options for DF1 Master, and DF1 Radio Modem are:
Available options for DF1 Slave are:
Available options for DF1 Point to Point are:
Available option for DH485 protocol is:
Tip: Full Duplex and Half Duplex are available only when Serial Media is set to RS-232C . |
Continuous Carrier | Determines whether to transmit a carrier frequency even when no data is sent. Select the checkbox to use continuous carrier with half duplex communication. Tip: The checkbox is available only when Duplex is set to Half Duplex . In DF1 Master, Continuous Carrier is always cleared and disabled. |
RTS Send Delay | Specifies the delay (in 20 msec) between the time the RTS signal turns on (high) and the time data is sent. Valid value is from 0 through 32767. The default is 0. Tip: When the serial media is RS-422 or RS-485, RTS Send Delay is disabled and set to blank. |
RTS Off Delay | Specifies the delay (in 20 msec) between the time the last character is sent and the time the RTS signal turns off (low). Valid value is from 0 through 32767. The default is 0. Tip: When the serial media is RS-422 or RS-485, RTS Off Delay is disabled and set to blank. |
DCD Wait Delay | Shows the seconds the data carrier detect (DCD) waits until it becomes inactive before discarding the packet. Tip: DCD Wait Delay is enabled only for DF1 Radio Modem protocol. For other Serial protocols, DCD Wait Delay is disabled and set to 1 second. When the serial media is RS-422 or RS-485, DCD Wait Delay is set to blank. |
