Points view parameters (output device, sourcing)

When the output mode is sourcing, the
Points
view includes these parameters.
TIP:
The available parameters depend on the device being configured. Parameters that do not apply to the device are hidden.
Parameter
Description
Disable Internal Short Circuit Detection on Even-Numbered Points
Disables or enables internal short circuit detection on even-numbered points by selecting or clearing the checkbox.
This checkbox is only available for devices with firmware revision 3.011 or later.
Disable Internal Short Circuit Detection on Odd-Numbered Points
Disables or enables internal short circuit detection on odd-numbered points by selecting or clearing the checkbox.
This checkbox is only available for devices with firmware revision 3.011 or later.
Point
Indicates the point number to which this configuration applies.
Point Operation Type
Determines whether to treat the output as a single or dual channel.
  • Single
. Treat output as one channel.
  • Dual
. Treat outputs as a matched pair. Safety logic simultaneously sets both of these outputs to ON or OFF. If this action fails, the device declares a channel fault.
Point Mode
Determines the operation mode of the output point. Available selections depend on the device.
  • Not Used
    . Output is not used.
  • Safety
. Output is a safety output.
  • Safety Pulse Test
. Tests the safety output itself using an internally generated test pulse. Pulse testing detects shorts to the 24V power supply and channel-to-channel shorts. The pulse test only occurs when the point is On. The pulse has a fixed state of periodic.
Enable No Load Detection
Enables or disables No Load Detection for the output point.
  • When
    Point Mode
    is
    Safety
    or
    Safety Pulse Test
, this checkbox is selected by default.
  • When
    Point Mode
    is
    Not Used
, this checkbox is cleared and disabled.
If
Point Operation Type
is
Dual
, the two output points must use the same
Enable No Load Detection
checkbox setting.
Diagnostics
Opens the diagnostic dialog box for diagnostic information.
Output Error Latch Time
Defines the time that the error is held to make sure that the controller can detect the error and provide more accurate diagnostics.
The value ranges from 0 ms through 65530 ms in increments of 10 ms. The default value is 1000 ms.
The amount of time to latch the errors depends on the RPI, the safety task watchdog, and other application-specific variables.
