The
Channels
view include these parameters:Parameter | Description |

Channel | Displays the channel number to which this configuration applies. |
Disable | Determines whether the channel is disabled. Disable channels to prevent erroneous
fault reporting, such as No Load or Open Wire faults, and to prevent the fault
indication from the channel status indicator. |
Input Type | Sets the input type for the channel. Available options are:
|
Input Range | Sets the input range for the input type. Ranges vary according to the selected
Input Type. |
Enable HART | Enables communication to HART devices. |
Source Loop Power | Controls whether the channel provides loop power to connected devices.

Enable Open Wire Detection | Detects whether the signal wire is disconnected from the channel or the RTB.
|
Notch Filter | Sets the notch filter value, which attenuates the input signal at the specified
frequency. Notch filter is based on what noise frequencies are present in the
module’s operating environment. |
High Signal | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. High Signal is in terms
of the input signal units and corresponds to High Engineering when scaled. |
Low Signal | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. Low Signal is in terms of
the input signal units and corresponds to Low Engineering when scaled. |
Engineering Units | Sets the unit of measurement for High Engineering and Low Engineering. |
High Engineering | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. High Engineering
corresponds to High Signal and helps determine the engineering units that the
signal values scale into. |
Low Engineering | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. Low Engineering
corresponds to Low Signal and helps determine the engineering units that the
signal values scale into. |
Recalculate Units | Recalculates new values to the following configuration parameters in Engineering
Units based on the new Scaling constants.
TIP:
This option is enabled when any of the four
Scaling constants is changed.

Digital Filter | Sets the time constant for a first order lag filter that is used to smooth noise
transients on the input with a range from 0...32,767 ms. When set to 0 ms, no
filtering takes place. |
Disable Alarms | Determines whether process alarms are generated or not.
IMPORTANT:
To use alarms, set the
Chxx.AlarmDisable configuration tag to 0. Also, make sure that the
Chxx.yyAlarmEn output tag for the same channel is set to 1.
