Overview View

Use the Overview view to view the definition of a device, including the device type, revision, electronic keying, connection, and other device-specific values.
TIP: To change the definition of a device, click the Device definition... button in the Overview view.
The Overview view includes these parameters.

Parameter
Description
Device type
Displays the device catalog number and type.
Vendor
Displays the device manufacturer information.
Description
Displays the device description.
Revision
Displays the device major and minor revisions.
Electronic keying
Displays the electronic keying used for the device. Electronic keying compares the device defined in the project to the installed device. If keying fails, a fault occurs.
Valid values include:
  • Exact Match
  • Compatible Module
  • Disable Keying

Connection Count
Displays the number of IO connections configured to the module.
Device definition...
Opens Device definition to change the revision, electronic keying, and Connection Count values.
