Discover how the new Embedded Edge Compute expands the capabilities of Logix Controllers with modern and consistent workflows that bring IT/OT convergence to life.

The shift here is to place computing resources closer to the user or the device, at the “edge” of the network, rather than in a hyper scale cloud data center that might be many miles away in the “core” of the network. The edge computing approach is useful for use cases that involve time-sensitive and data-intensive applications as these applications can deliver near real-time performance by computing resources closer to the source of data generation. By keeping data local, you also achieve better security, privacy and data sovereignty.

The Embedded Edge Compute solution is designed to optimize the infrastructure cost with enhanced security features that protect the User IP. Its ability to have high-speed communications and scalable computing allows the enterprises to achieve higher Workforce Productivity as the Embedded edge enables the running of user-friendly Apps like Factory Talk Optix, while allowing the use of programming through High-Level Languages by advanced users.

The Embedded Edge Compute enable interoperability at the machine level (i.e., via OPC UA) and towards the cloud while enabling analytics, alternative communications, effective operator visualization, remote access, and many other benefits.
