Workstation Functionality
The demo provides a compact, hands-on platform for showing motor control integration using direct-on-line (DOL) starting technology with EtherNet/IP connectivity. Designed for customer demonstrations, technical training, and product familiarization, the workstation includes the 1834-AENTR Stratix 4400 Gateway Interface, 1486 flat media, and communication interfaces for controlling 100-E contactors, motor starters, and 800F panel operators. An integrated 5380 Compact GuardLogix controller is included within the self-contained package.
Users can interact with the physical push buttons to start and stop the motor starters. The demonstration box also includes a standard 120V AC electrical receptacle for connecting a small motor or resistive load, such as a fan, drill, or small hair dryer. This external load connection helps users visualize AC motor operation and monitor operating data, including motor current in amps, thermal capacity utilization (TCU%), and real-time fault detection. The workstation reinforces functional operation and key capabilities such as motor control, parameter configuration, EtherNet/IP communications, and peer-to-peer functionality. Its portable design provides a safe, repeatable environment for showing common application scenarios, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
A CE-compliant version of this workstation will also be available for customers in the EMEA region. Customers requiring a workstation that meets applicable CE requirements should order ABT-MD1834EIC-CE.
