Overview View

Use Overview to view the definition of a device, including the device type, revision, electronic keying, connection, and other device-specific values.
Overview View Example
The Overview view includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Series
Displays the series of the device.
Revision
Displays the revision of the device.
Electronic Keying
Displays the electronic keying that is used for the device.
Connection
Displays the connection type and the communication format.
MAOC Compatible Data
Specifies whether the data is compatible with Motion Arm Output Cam (MAOC) instruction.
If the data is not compatible with MAOC, you cannot use this module with MAOC instruction.
Some point assignment options are not available when Yes is selected.
Timestamp
Specifies how the timestamp information is saved and reported for the digital input events.
  • Per Point – Enables timestamping for the points configured as Digital Input, Timestamp only. Records timestamps for up to 2 input transitions per point, one for Off-to-On transition and another for On-to-Off transition. These timestamps are reported in Input tag on a per point basis.
This option is only available when MAOC Compatible Data is set to No.
  • FIFO – Enables timestamping for the points configured as Digital Input, FIFO only. Records timestamps for multiple input points in onboard buffer for up to 256 timestamp events. Events are recorded and retrieved in order (first-in, first out), allowing precise tracking of multiple fast transitions.
This option is only available if any of the following conditions are true:
    • The Connection is configured as Data or Listen Only Data.
    • The MAOC Compatible Data is set to No.
  • None – Disables timestamping. The module does not record timestamps for input points in Data connection.
This option is only available when MAOC Compatible Data is set to Yes.
Points Assignments
Displays the operating mode that is assigned for each point.
Device Definition
Opens Device definition dialog to change the revision, electronic keying, point mode, and other device-specific values.
