Modbus Master Data Exchange
In Modbus mode, the serial module supports both Modbus ASCII and Modbus RTU to connect to
Modbus enabled devices like flowmeters, power meters or remote RTU talking on Modbus
RTU/ASCII. For the Modbus Master data exchange, the following definitions apply:
- Write – The Modbus Master writes data to the Modbus Slave.
- Read – The Modbus Master reads data from the Modbus Slave.
The PointMax serial module can get Modbus Data from Produced/Consumed Data command, every
RPI.

You can configure up to 50 commands. Go to Module Properties → Device Definition →
Channel 0 – Modbus Master view to configure the commands. Each command is checked in
a cyclical sequence and executed if poll interval has elapsed (for Continuous
communication) or write command data is changed (for Conditional communication).
