Inspect Fan Assemblies for Maintenance of Wall-mount Drives

Inspect the fan assemblies for dirt and damage. Dirt build-up or blockage on fans can lead to component damage or failure. Follow these inspection and maintenance instructions along with the Recommended Preventative Maintenance information.
  1. Review the product advisories in Before You Begin.
  2. Remove power from the system.
  3. Remove the cover from the drive.
  4. Inspect these fan assemblies for blockage and verify free rotation:
    • Heatsink fans
    • Stirring fans
  5. Clean or replace the fan assemblies as necessary.
