Using the Tag Browser

In FactoryTalk View, when you need to use a tag, you can type its name and path, or you can browse for it. The Tag Browser lets you look for and select tags on any of the data servers that are part of the application including HMI,
FactoryTalk Linx
, and OPC data servers.
To select a tag:
  1. Click the relevant folder in the hierarchy on the left side of the Tag Browser.
  2. Select a tag and click
    OK
    , or point to a tag and click the plus sign.
To select multiple tags:
  1. Click the relevant folder in the hierarchy on the left side of the Tag Browser.
  2. In the list of tags in the right side, point to a tag and click the plus sign.
    TIP:
    To select multiple tags, hold down the
    Ctrl
     or
    Shift
     key.
    To select all tags, select the checkbox at the top of the table, and then point to a tag and click the plus sign.
  3. Click
    OK
    .
To filter tags:
  • In the
    Filter
     box, type a string to specify which tags should be shown.
  • To remove the filter, clear the text string from the
    Filter
     box.
