Data server tags

Data server tags provide direct access to the basic attributes of all OPC DA and UA compliant tags, through data servers you add to an application. They are also called direct reference tags or data items in the OPC DA and UA specifications. Such tags are not part of the HMI tags database.

To use data server tags, such as those found in

Studio 5000

and other OPC compliant devices, you can refer directly to the tag’s location wherever the tag data is needed.

You can directly type the name of the controller tag or use the Tag Browser to specify the controller tag.
