Download
FactoryTalk® Optix Studio
from the FactoryTalk Optix landing page and install it. Then you can start using it without purchasing an entitlement.
  1. In the
    Releases
    section, select
    Download
    .
    TIP: See FactoryTalk Optix landing page for further details on this subject.
  2. Select the checkbox next to
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio
    and in the upper right corner, select the first instance of
    Download Now
    at the top.
  3. Scroll to read the EULA and select
    Accept and Download
    .
    The download progress is displayed in the
    Download Manager
    .
  4. When the download is complete, double-click the
    .exe
    file to run the installation.
  5. In the
    Setup
    dialog window, select
    Customize
    .
    1. In the
      Customize
      dialog window, select
      Next
      .
    2. (optional) To ensure that all
      FactoryTalk® Optix Studio
      projects created within the organization comply with defined security policies, administrators can optionally configure and enforce these policies using the
      Security Policies
      dialog. To activate this feature, select the
      Customize security policies
      checkbox.
    3. Next to
      Forced encryption mode
      choose one of the following options:
      • Remote key store
        (default option): Keep project secrets in a remote key store.
      • User provided password
        : Encrypt project secrets with a passwords.
      • None
        : Do not encrypt project secrets.
    NOTE: This installation is going to affect the
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio Options
    . See Set options in the
    FactoryTalk® Optix Studio
    Help online manual, to learn more about this topic.
  6. Select
    Install
    .
  7. Select
    I accept the agreement
    and complete the setup to install
    FactoryTalk® Optix Studio
    .
FactoryTalk® Optix Studio
is installed and ready to use.
NOTE: During every installation, uninstallation, or modification, the installer generates a log file at:
C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Rockwell/Install Logs
. These logs are not deleted automatically, so you can remove them manually to free up storage space.
