Install PI Builder

Use PI Builder to import and export data points (tags) in the
FactoryTalk Historian
 server.
To install PI Builder
  1. Install Microsoft Excel.
  2. In the
    FactoryTalk Historian SE
     installation package,go to the
    Redist\PIAFClient
     folder, and then double-click
    AFClient_x64.exe
    .
  3. Under
    Application Maintenance
    , select
    Next
    .
  4. Under
    Select Features
    , expand
    PI Builder
    , select
    Will be installed on local hard drive
    , and then select
    Next
    .
  5. In the
    PI AF Client 2024 Setup dialog
    , select
    Resume
    .
  6. Select
    Next
    .
  7. Under
    Ready to Modify the Application
    , select
    Install
    .
    After the installation, the
    PI Builder
     tab shows on the Ribbon in Microsoft Excel.
    TIP:
    If the
    PI Builder
     tab does not show, do the following:
    1. In Microsoft Excel, go to
      File
       >
      Options
       >
      Add-ins
      .
    2. At the bottom of the
      Excel Options
       window, select
      COM Add-ins
       from the
      Manage
       list, and then select
      Go
      .
    3. In the
      COM Add-ins
       dialog, select
      PIAFBuilder
      , and then select
      OK
      .
