Perform end of batch archiving
Selecting
End of Batch Archiving
defers control of batch reporting
to FactoryTalk® Event Archiver
and only performs batch reporting upon removal of the
batch from the Batch List. The End of Batch Archiving runs in the security context of the
FactoryTalk® Batch
Server.When using End of Batch Archiving, for information on disabling
FactoryTalk Event Archiver
must be disabled as a
Windows service and cannot be controlled using the FactoryTalk Batch Service Manager

Journal Signatures are enabled, specify
End of Batch Archiving

ensure that all event journal records are properly archived.To perform end of batch archiving
- OpenFactoryTalk® Administration Consoleand sign in to theFactoryTalkNetwork Directory.
- InFactoryTalk Administration ConsoleExplorer, do one of the following:
- For a newFactoryTalk BatchServer, right-click the application or the area name and select .
- For an existingFactoryTalk BatchServer, expand the application or the area name, right-click the server, and selectProperties.
- In theFactoryTalk Batch Services Propertiesdialog, select theBatch Reportingtab.
- In theArchive methoddropdown list, selectEnd of Batch Archiving.
- In theArchiverproperties area, selectDelete the event journal file after it is fully archivedto allow deletion of the.evtor.evtjfiles afterFactoryTalk Event Archiverhas stored the data in the ODBC database.IMPORTANT:Deleting files after archiving is not a reversible action and is not recommended.
- In theTable namebox, type the name of the table that has the Batch data.TIP: The defaultTable nameisBHBatchhis. To change the defaultTable name:
- Create a new table.

- InDatabase connection stringenter either:
- ODBC;DSN=DataSourceName;
- ODBC;
TIP:If the DSN is not specified the first timeFactoryTalk Event Archiveris started, theFactoryTalk Event Archiversetup will decide the connection string and automatically update this value. - To save the data in theBatch Reportingtab, selectApply.
