Replacement categories
The following table lists replacement categories and their meanings.
Name | Description |

Direct Replacement | A product that can be used in place of an earlier product without any user
modifications or adjustments. |
Functional Replacement | A product that can be used in place of an earlier product with minimal changes to
an existing application. |
Engineering Replacement | A product that can be used to migrate from an earlier product but requires
engineering changes to existing applications. |
No Planned Replacement | A product that Rockwell Automation has chosen to exist for business, technology, or
market change reasons. |
Not Applicable | A product that is not available. |
