Function
The 1756sc-IC32 48 volt discrete input module supports DC and AC voltage inputs. The module digitally converts and stores it in the input registers.
Field Interface
The module contains a removable terminal block. Channels are divided into 4 groups of 8 channels. Each group has it's own common terminal.
Inputs are 48V AC/DC sink or source.
Module Identity
The module Identity includes the following attributes:
- Vendor ID: 58 (3A hex)
- Product Type: 7 (7 hex)
- Product Code: 28 (1C hex)
Data
The following module data types and tags are created by the AOP:
Discrete input data and status data for each channel is provided via the backplane to ControlLogix® controllers.
- Input Tag: 8 words (20 words with timestamp)
- Output Tag: 0 words (not used)
- Config Tag: 24 words
Note
: IO Tags are updated by the controller asynchronous to its ladder-logic program scan. When "block integrity” of this data is important, the CPS ladder instruction can synchronously copy the data to other tags for use by application logic. Refer to the "Owner’s Guide” for recommended methods.Communication
A single Class 1 connection is used to transfer Input and Configuration tags to and from ControlLogix processor.
Bus Power
Backplane power consumption is approximately 400 mA at 5 V DC and 0 mA at 24 V DC.
