5069-SDN Overview

The Softing 5069-SDN is a DeviceNet scanner module.

Performance

The 5069-SDN supports backplane connections at 2ms RPI with 500 bytes of I/O data.

LED Indicators

Two LEDs on the 5069-SDN indicate module status.
Module Status LED: Represents the state of the module. This is a red/green bi-color indicator.

Description
Off
The module is not powered.
If no power is supplied to the device, the module status indicator will be off.
Flashing Green
Standby
The following conditions exist:
  • The module is powering up.
  • The module has powered up successfully.
  • One of the following: The module does not have a connection to the controller. A connection can result from missing, incomplete, or incorrect module configuration.
Solid Green
Normal Operation
The module has a connection to the owner-controller and is operating normally.
Flashing Red
Minor Fault
One of the following conditions exists:
  • A module firmware update is in progress.
  • A module firmware update attempt failed.
  • The device has experienced a recoverable fault.
  • A connection to the module has timed out.
Solid Red
Major Fault
The module experienced a nonrecoverable fault.
Network Status LED: Represents the state of the module. This is a red/green bi-color indicator.

Off
The module is not powered.
No module power, no network power, or communications are not occurring between the module and the DeviceNet network. (This may be an acceptable condition.)
Flashing Green
Idle Mode
Device is operational. There are no connections established with any of the network devices.
Solid Green
Normal Operation
Normal operation. Scan list is configured. Module is not in Idle mode.
Flashing Red
Minor Fault
One or more of the devices that the scanner module is communicating with is in a timed-out state.
Solid Red
Major Fault
Critical network failure. Duplicate DeviceNet node address detected.
