Mass Flow
Damping
The damping makes it possible to damp the fluctuations of the measured values of the mass
flow rate:
- on the display,
- on the totalizers,
- on the PLC input.
The damping is not applied to the new measured value if the 2 following conditions are met:
- a Low, Medium or High damping level is active,
- and the variation between 2 values that are measured one after the other is higher than 30 % (for example when charging the pipe or stopping the flow).
The Low damping level or no damping at all (None) are suited for applications/processes
that need fast response times.
Cut-Off
If the absolute (and possibly damped) measured mass flow rate is less than the cut-off
value plus a hysteresis value, the mass flow rate value is set to 0:
- the display then shows a mass flow rate = 0.
- the outputs and the totalizers react as if the actual mass flow rate were equal to 0.
Operation of Mass Flow cut-off function

By default, the cut-off function is enabled.
