Sensors and controllers help roller coasters navigate different tracks, providing riders with the thrills of being upside down and dropping great distances.

Rockwell Automation, in partnership with Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, demonstrates how the Valravn roller coaster controllers and sensors give riders the experience of peering over a cliff before free-falling down in this new video.

STEM influencer Jay Flores walks viewers through the ride’s mechanics and how they provide guests with a memorable experience.

This latest “It’s Not Magic, It’s Science” video was created in partnership with Cedar Point as a part of its student and youth programming.
