Course Purpose

This course introduces the core components of a PlantPAx® distributed control system, including HMI, alarms, and security required to operate a PlantPAx system.  

In this course, you will learn PlantPAx concepts and terminology and will be shown how to:  

  • Navigate in a PlantPAx HMI system  
  • Interpret process objects and faceplates in a PlantPAx application  
  • Operate within the security of a PlantPAx system  
  • Interpret and respond to alarms in a PlantPAx application  
  • View and modify trends in a PlantPAx application 
  • Perform bus structure troubleshooting 
  • Compare FT Optix and FT View SE operational scope 

Who Should Attend

Individuals who operate or maintain PlantPAx system applications, as well as those individuals who are interested in understanding how to operate a PlantPAx application. (Operators & Maintenance) 

Prerequisites

Practical work experience with process applications, ControlLogix® systems, and FactoryTalk® View SE applications is beneficial but not required. 

Technology Requirements

All technology is provided for student use in the classroom by Rockwell Automation. It is not necessary for students to bring any technology with them when attending this course.
