Perform a search using multiple wildcard characters

The Search box supports the use of an asterisk (*) as a wildcard character. A maximum of 4 search terms, separated by the * character, is supported. For example, enter
16*ac*isolated*1756
when searching for a module like the 1756-IA16I, 16 point 79-132V AC Isolated Input module. Not all modules contain descriptive information (like 16 point, 8 point). Those terms are used in this example solely for the purpose of demonstrating the wildcard search feature.
Search is performed on all the displayed text of a given Module Type. This means that search is performed on the text in all the columns (except the
Category
column) of a given module type.
To perform a search using multiple wildcard characters
  1. In the Search box, enter the first criterion to search. For example, when search for a 16 point modules that are of ac (alternating current) type and also are isolated, enter
    16 point
    as the first search term.
  2. Enter the wildcard character (*). The Search box now contains
    16 point*
    .
  3. Now enter the second search term. In the example we are using here, that would be
    ac
(for alternating current). The Search box now contains
    16 point*ac
    .
  4. Enter the wildcard character (*). The Search box now contains
    16 point*ac*
    .
  5. Enter the third search term. In the example we are using here, that would be
    isolated
. The Search box now contains
    16 point*ac*isolated
    .
The Catalog Results list displays only those modules containing 16 point and ac and isolated in the
