Locate target modules using the Catalog tab

Use the Search box or a combination of filters to locate a specific module type. This example for locating module types is based on searching for a 1756 diagnostic input module that is manufactured by Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley but not knowing the actual catalog number, which is 1756-IA8D.
To locate target modules using the Catalog tab
Start typing the word
diagnostic
into the Search box:
  1. In the
    Select Module type
     dialog box,
    Catalog
     tab Search box, type the letter
    d
    .
    Note that there are no changes in the list of displayed module types since virtually everything contains the letter d.
  2. Add the letters
    iag
    to the d.
    The Search box now contains the letters diag. The Catalog Results list displays all results where either the
    Catalog Number
     or the
    Description
    or the
    Vendor
    has the letters diag, as shown below.
  3. Right-click the
    1756-IA8D
     module that is part of the Catalog Results list and select
    Create
    .

Normal
