Troubleshoot licensing issues

Verify entitlement availability and size in
FactoryTalk Hub
. Investigate logs for errors and rehost entitlement manually if required.

  1. Check the entitlements and container startup:
    • In
      FactoryTalk Hub
, verify that the entitlement is still available.
    • In
      FactoryTalk Hub
, verify that the entitlement size is large enough to run the
      FactoryTalk Optix Application
      .
    • If you use online validation, verify that you set the license as an environment variable when you started the
      Docker
      container.
    • If you use online validation, verify that the container has continuous internet connectivity while the application runs.
    • If you use offline validation, verify that the offline license files are present in the expected container location and match the deployed application.
    • If you use offline validation, verify that the offline entitlement is not already bound to another host or container instance.
  2. In the terminal, enter
    docker exec -it
    container_name
    bash
to access the running container shell.
    container_name
    The name of the container.
    TIP: You can list
    Docker
    containers by entering
    docker ps -a
    in the terminal.
  3. Investigate the log for errors by entering
    cat /root/Rockwell_Automation/FactoryTalk_Optix/FTOptixApplication/Log/FTOptixLicenseSDK/FTOptixLicenseSDK.log
    TIP: If a
    Docker
container stops, the entitlement may remain locked after termination. If you use online validation, restore internet connectivity, and then rehost the entitlement manually. If you use offline validation, use the supported offline activation or rehost method for the current host. For more information, see FactoryTalk Optix Installation Guide.
