Safety Program Parameter Connections

For more information about how to create program parameter connections, see Program parameter connection syntax of the FactoryTalk Design Studio Online Help.
You can create connections from a safety output to a safety input, and vice versa. You can also connect a safety output to a standard input. To create a connection:
  1. From the Execution explorer, right-click one of the two programs you are connecting and select Tags and Parameters.
  2. In the Tags and Parameters editor, create the input and/or output tags for the first program. Use the Usage dropdown to set the tags to Input or Output.
  3. Repeat the process to add input and/or output tags to the second program.
  4. In the Tags and Parameters editor, select one of the two tags you wish to connect.
  5. In the Properties pane for that tag, select the Connection tab.
  6. Use the New Connection dropdown to navigate to the second tag you wish to connect.
The new connection parameter shows in the Properties Pane for both connected tags.
