Configure Counter State in Communication Fault Mode

You can configure the counter to specific states when a connection fault occurs, that is, the connection between the controller and the module breaks.
When the connection between a controller and module breaks, the counter can behave in the following ways, depending on how you configure the Counter State in Communication Fault Mode parameter:
  • Continue counting – Default
  • Hold its last state
  • Transition to a user-defined value
You can choose to reset the stored values when the module when is in Communication Fault Mode.
The counter remains at that state value until the connection to the controller is re-established.

When Communication Fails in Program Mode

When communication fails in Program Mode, the counter can behave in the following ways, depending on how you configure the When Communication Fails in Program Mode parameter:
  • Leave counter in Program Mode state – The counter behaves as defined by the Counter State in Program Mode selection.
  • Change counter to Communication Fault state – The counter behaves as defined by the Counter State in Communication Fault Mode selection.
