Error - Import failure

There was a failure while performing an import. Possible causes are listed below:

Unsupported components for the import

The .L5X file contains components that are not supported for the import component type.

See the Errors window for a list of the offending components.

Out of tag memory in the controller

The memory is low and the import cannot be completed.

Controller cannot be modified when locked by another workstation

The controller is locked by another workstation.

Perform the modification once the controller is unlocked from the other workstation.

Attempting to import a secured .L5X file from an instance of the

Logix Designer

application that does not have security enabled.

The application must have security enabled and properly configured to open secured project files. See the security administrator to have the workstation properly configured, or request a version of the project file that is not secured.

The number of imported components exceeds the maximum allowed components.

The .L5X file contains more components than the maximum allowed components and the import cannot be completed. For example, a file cannot be imported if the number of imported programs exceeds the limit of 1000 child programs.

Access Denied

Program contains test or accepted edits

Cannot import rungs or routines into a program that contains test or accepted edits. Cannot overwrite an existing program if it contains tests or accepted edits.

Either cancel or assemble those edits before importing rungs or routines into the program or overwrite the program.

Locked routine cannot GSV or SSV to <component name>

The import was prevented because it contains logic with a GSV instruction reading an attribute that is not allowed, or an SSV instruction writing to an attribute that is not allowed.

No target found in the .L5K file

The .L5X file is not compatible with the current import context. The Signature information for the Add-On Instruction component is missing in the imported file.
