Estimate memory requirements offline for controllers with divided memory

When a project changes on a controller with divided memory, use the
Estimate
 button on the
Capacity
 tab of the
Controller Properties
 dialog box to see the estimated memory usage and remaining available memory.
IMPORTANT:
This procedure applies to the
CompactLogix
 5370,
ControlLogix
 5570,
Compact GuardLogix
 5370, and
GuardLogix
 5570 controllers
Some controllers, for example, store all elements in one common area and the data values are automatically updated when the project changes:
Compact GuardLogix
 5380,
CompactLogix
 5380,
CompactLogix
 5480,
ControlLogix
 5580, and
GuardLogix
 5580 controllers
To estimate controller memory requirements offline:
    1. On the
      Online
      toolbar, click the
      Controller Properties
       icon.
    2. On the
      Controller Properties
       dialog box, click the
      Capacity
       tab.
  2. (optional) In
    Memory Option
     box, select the controller that has the correct memory size.
  3. View the memory information that is available since the last estimate.
  4. Select
    Estimate
     to re-estimate the amount of controller memory required for the project.
  5. Select
    OK
    .
