Logs storage

The actions performed by the Tools are tracked in logs. These logs are available in each Tool related folder.

Tools

The general path is
%localAppData%/Rockwell Automation/FactoryTalk Remote Access/Tools/<ApplicationName>_log_<device-if-any>_(1|2|…).txt
For example:
  • Interactive Access
    Tool:
    C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Rockwell Automation\FactoryTalk Remote Access\Tools\RemoteAccessDeviceConnectionApplet_log_xxxx.txt
  • Device Setup
    Tool:
    C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Rockwell Automation\FactoryTalk Remote Access\Tools\RemoteAccessDeviceSetup_log_xxxx.txt
  • Connection Settings
    Tool:
    C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Rockwell Automation\FactoryTalk Remote Access\Tools\RemoteAccessSettings_log_xxxx.txt

Runtime for PC

The general path is:
%ProgramData%/<CompanyName>/<ProductName>/<ComponentName>/<ApplicationName>_log_xxxx.txt
For example for Windows systems:
  • C:\ProgramData\Rockwell Automation\FactoryTalk Remote Access\Runtime\RemoteAccessRuntimeService_log_1.txt
  • C:\ProgramData\Rockwell Automation\FactoryTalk Remote Access\Runtime\RemoteAccessRuntimeUI_log_1.txt
  • C:\ProgramData\Rockwell Automation\FactoryTalk Remote Access\Runtime\RemoteAccessRuntimeHelper_log_1.txt
On Linux systems, spaces must be replaced with underscores.

Runtime for devices

You can find the Runtime logs in your device System Manager under the
Diagnostics
section, or in the
Interactive Access
Tool, under the
Log
section.
