Observe these guidelines when working with TwinCAT driver.

Supported controllers

The driver supports these controller families:
  • TwinCAT® runtime
  • Beckhoff ® TwinCAT® systems
IMPORTANT: The driver has been tested with TwinCAT® runtime and CX5130-0155.

Controller tags import

IMPORTANT: Before importing tags from Beckhoff ® TwinCAT® controllers, perform Configure controller routing.
TIP:
This communication driver supports importing tags with NetLogic at design time. Importing tags with NetLogic at design time helps with large controller projects or with project setup automation.

This communication driver supports importing custom data types defined in the controller project.
You can import tags in these modes:
Online mode
Use online mode to import tags directly from the controller at design time or runtime.
Offline mode
Use offline mode to import tags from
TPY
 files.
