Safety Element Indicators

You can use both standard (non-safety-related) and safety-related components in the control system. In an application, you can perform standard automation control from standard tasks. Safety controllers provide the same functionality as standard controllers, with the addition of providing a SIL 2 or SIL 3 capable safety task.
FactoryTalk® Design Studio™
 provides a distinction between the standard and safety-related portions of the application via the safety task, safety programs, safety routines, safety tags, and safety I/O devices.
