The SNN that shows in the Overview tab of the Device profile of an assigned safety I/O
matches the SNN shown for the backplane of the safety controller (see Safety Controller Profile). An unassigned safety I/O does not have an
SNN until you assign it to a safety controller.
Safety Network Number
Here you can copy, paste, or generate a new SNN in either time-based or manual format
(see SNN Formats).
When the safety controller is online with a safety I/O device, the Set button is active.
When you commission a safety I/O device for the first time (see Commission a Safety System), you must select Set to write the SNN
directly into the device.
