Anniversaries are milestones that prompt us to take stock of how we spend our time. Reflecting on my one-year anniversary with Rockwell Automation, the problems we’ve solved and the opportunities we’ve seized together have been unprecedented. Our President & CEO, Blake Moret, notes that in the manufacturing industry, “we’ve experienced 20 years of evolution in 2 years.” It begs the question, to what end?
At Rockwell Automation, with our ecosystem of trusted partners, we are solving societal problems that, a short time ago, we could only dream about. Helping one food manufacturer maximize production and secure our food supply while decreasing energy utilization. Enabling a large e-commerce retailer to meet historic demand amidst the challenges of labor shortage. Partnering with a global pharmaceutical company to recover and reuse toxic chemicals from wastewater as part of their sustainability initiative. Supporting a hydroelectric company to reliably increase energy production.
These are just some of the seismic changes we are facilitating together as we speak, giving tremendous meaning to our work.
In our newly released 8th Annual State of Smart Manufacturing report, we note that on average, 23% of the operating budgets of our manufacturing customers are now spent on technology. About 39% of customers say they’re already using smart manufacturing technologies, with 66% of respondents saying that these technologies are very important or critical to their organizations.
Again, we’re no longer speaking of the future… manufacturers are asking us to lead and enable them now.
Thank you to our team members and partners for maximizing each day with such purpose. I am more optimistic about what we can achieve together than I was on day one… and we’re just getting started!
