The session will provide a historical view and the optimization practices used to improve the 60,000 ton chilled water system at UT Austin over the last decade. Actual results of the project will be presented, and the session will cover the applied control strategies for all variable speed (chilled water, condenser water and cooling tower fans), optimized Thermal Energy Storage (TES) dispatch using machine learning, heat electrification using heat recovery chillers, and other solutions that can be applied to mission critical chilled water systems.
