1486-CBL Flat Media Cable Requirements

Follow these guidelines for the 1486-CBL flat media cable:
  • The cable must have a clean-edge cut that is perpendicular to the inner wall of the 1486-CON connector.
  • The wires of the cable must NOT be stripped.
  • The cable must be positioned depending on the type of connector being used.
  • The cable must be placed with its gray dashed stripe that is aligned with the polished, dashed stripe on the connector tray.

Spacing Requirements

The 1486-CBL flat media cable and 1486-CON connector must be spaced as follows:
  • Provide 100 mm (4 in.) of initial spacing to allow for cable slack to ease connector insertion/reinsertion.
  • Adjust the spacing based on the adjacent supported device dimensions to achieve desired cable slack.
The minimum spacing is 50 mm (2 in.).
