PVLV time settings
Use the
Time configuration
tab on the PVLV Properties
dialog box to configure time settings for Process Valve (PVLV) instructions. To configure time settings for PVLV instructions
- On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
- On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select
.
- In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and selectConfigure <tag name>.
- Under theAdvancedtab, selectTime configuration.
- Configure these settings:
- Delay to echo back of [Position 1] / [Position 2] when in virtual. Enter the duration (sec) to show the valve moving between positions when using virtual mode. This delay is also used when the valve does not have or is not using position feedback.Use theHMI > Command configurationtab to define labels for positions 1 and 2.
- Time after position output triggered with no motion before full stall status. Enter the time (sec) to allow feedback to show the valve has moved from its initial position after a command. If feedback does not arrive in time, the instruction reports aFull stallfault.
- Time after position output triggered to reach target position before transit stall status. Enter the duration (sec) to allow feedback to show the valve has reached the target position after a command. If feedback does not arrive in time, the instruction reports aTransit stallfault.
- Time delay before initially [Position 1] valve. Enter the duration (sec) to pause, after receiving the command to move the valve to position 1, before triggering the output to move the valve. Use theHMI > Command configurationtab to define labels for positions 1 and 2.
- Time delay before initially [Position 2] valve. Enter the duration (sec) to pause, after receiving the command to move the valve to position 2, before triggering the output to move the valve. Use theHMI > Command configurationtab to define labels for positions 1 and 2.
- Time to pulse outputs (0 = outputs maintained on). Enter the duration (sec) to pulse the valve outputs. Use this configuration when the valve actuator latches in the signals to move. To maintain the valve outputs when the valve actuator does not latch the signals, enter 0.
- Time to [Position 1] when pulsing valve. Enter the duration (sec) to command the valve to Position 1 when valve pulsing is selected. Use theHMI > Command configurationtab to define labels for positions 1 and 2.
- Time to [Position 2] when pulsing valve. Enter the duration (sec) to command the valve to Position 2 when selecting valve pulsing. Use theHMI > Command configurationtab to define labels for positions 1 and 2.
- Time after trip output triggered to reach trip position before trip fail status. Enter the duration (sec) to allow feedback to show the valve has reached the trip position. If feedback does not arrive in time, the instruction reports aTrip failfault.
- Time to sound audible after position command before triggering position output. Enter the duration (sec) to sound an audible notification after receiving a position command before triggering outputs to move the valve.
- When online with the controller, monitor theDevice stateandDevice issuesindicators at the bottom left of the dialog box:
- Device state. Displays the current device state, such asPulse continuouslyorOut of service.
- Device issues. Displays fault conditions, such asFeedback faultorTransit stall.
- SelectApply.
