PAI Advanced Quality

Use the
Advanced Quality
tab on the
PAI Properties
dialog box to:
  • Configure the Process Analog Input (PAI) instruction to take specific action in response to PV status, I/O faults, or required device maintenance.
To configure PAI Advanced Quality settings
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Select the
    Advanced > Quality
    tab.
  3. Monitor these parameters:
    • PV Quality: Report
      . The current classification of PV quality: Good, Uncertain, or Bad.
    • PV Quality: Action
      . The current source of the PV used in the instruction: Use input value, Use last good value, or Use replace value.
    • Issue state
      and
      Status
      . Issue states and the current status bit for each issue are listed in order of priority. For each issue state, the status box displays the status bit value for each issue, either 0 (off) or 1 (on).
  4. Configure these settings:
    • PV quality to report
      . Select
      Good
      ,
      Uncertain
      , or
      Bad
      as the status to be reported when the issue occurs.
    • Action to take
      . Select the follow up action for the PV value when the issue occurs:
      Use actual PV value
      ,
      Use last good PV value
      , or
      Replace PV value
      .
