Rockwell Automation, Inc. (NYSE: ROK), the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, will show how manufacturers can take practical steps toward more autonomous operations at PACK EXPO International, Oct. 18-21 in Chicago. In Booth S2450, Rockwell Automation will bring together advanced control, software, AI, digital twins, robotics, and autonomous production logistics to show how these technologies can work together across the plant.
Manufacturers are under pressure to increase productivity and flexibility while managing workforce constraints, aging infrastructure, and rapidly changing technology. At PACK EXPO, Rockwell Automation will showcase how manufacturers can build on the automation they already have, get more value from production data, and introduce greater autonomy over time — rather than transform everything at once.
“Autonomous operations aren’t about a single technology or an overnight transformation,” said Greg Schmidt, Vice President of Global Industry, CPG, at Rockwell Automation. “Manufacturers need a strong automation foundation and trusted production data first, and can build from there with AI, robotics, and autonomous material movement. At PACK EXPO, we’re showing what that journey looks like in practice and how manufacturers can take the next step from wherever they are today.”
The booth experience will demonstrate key capabilities across the journey toward more autonomous operations, including:
- Next-generation control: Rockwell Automation's expanded Integrated Architecture® system includes PowerFlex® drives, PointMax™ I/O, and On-Machine™ offerings, alongside upcoming LogixEdge™ Controllers designed to provide greater flexibility through software-defined automation.
- Digital twins and production data: FactoryTalk® Optix™ and Emulate3D® software demonstrate how manufacturers can use edge data management and digital twins to improve decision-making and optimize machine design, testing, and commissioning.
- Autonomous optimization: FactoryTalk® Analytics™ Model Predictive Control (MPC) uses multivariable closed-loop control with agentic AI to help manufacturers move from insight to action.
- Intelligent workflow orchestration: FactoryTalk® Orchestration™ software coordinates material movement and production workflows in real time, connecting equipment and systems that help manufacturers create more efficient, autonomous operations.
- Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs): OTTO® AMRs enable safe, consistent, and efficient material movement across the production facility.
Rockwell Automation specialists will also present at Innovation Stage 2 (N-4580) four times during the week on the following topics:
- Transform What’s Possible with Digital Twin (Oct. 18, 1:00 p.m.)
- Building the Future of Industrial Operations Today (Oct. 19, 2:00 p.m.)
- Making Machine Data Work for Your Workforce (Oct. 20, 11:00 a.m.)
- From Automation Islands to Connected, Autonomous Operations (Oct. 21, 11:00 a.m.)
