Commit changes to a local repository

Save changes to a project to save changes on the local computer only. Saved changes are not backed up to a repository. Commit changes so that the changes are backed up to the local repository that is in the project folder on the local computer.
  1. Select
    Save and Commit
    .  
  2. If version control is not configured and the message "You must configure a User Name and Email in FactoryTalk Studio Options before making a commit" appears:
    1. In the title bar of
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio
      , select
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio Options
      .
    2. Under
      Version Control User Configuration
      , in
      User Name
      , type your username.
      TIP:
      User Name
      is the name that appears next to commits when you open
      View history
      for a project. View history identifies your commits with the first letter of your user name.
    3. In
      User Email
      , type your email address.
    4. Select
      Save
      .
  3. In
    Save and commit
    , in
    Commit message
    , type a description of the changes you are committing.

    OK
    .
