Add version control to an existing project

If you create a project that does not have version control, icons do not appear to commit, push, or pull changes or to view history.
Add version control to an existing project through the
Save as
option. If you select
Use Version Control
,
Save as
creates a local repository for the project. You can then save and commit changes as if you had created the project with version control.
  1. With the project that has no version control configured open, in the main toolbar bar, select the drop-down arrow after and then select
    Save As
    .
  2. In
    Save project as
    , enter:
    • Name
. The name of the project.
    • Location
. The folder to contain the project.
    • Use Version Control
. Select to add version control to the project.
      TIP:
If the project already has version control and
      Use Version Control
      is already selected,
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio
creates a new local repository for the project without any previous commit history.
  3. Select
    OK
    .
