It all starts with providing a single point of contact for all issues from order entry through field acceptance. Every order we receive is assigned a project manager who combines application technology with strong team leadership skills.
The project manager will hold a kickoff meeting with the customer to identify the project team, review the as-sold project scope, develop correspondence and communications practices for the project and set commitment dates. The as-sold specification and the notes from the kick-off meeting make up a project's scope of supply definition.
A performance based project schedule is developed using Microsoft Project that identifies milestones from the scope of supply. This schedule is the basis for our internal monthly project review meetings and customer status reports. Realizing that customer communication is critical for success, these review meetings identify status of the project definition, hardware design, software design, manufacturing, system test and shipment. The project manager uses this forum to highlight any issues, assess resources and enlist management support as necessary to ensure a successful implementation.
