Commissioning
Ensuring On Time And In Budget Projects
Centrally Managed — Locally Executed. Our commissioning and site management services not only provide the most talented drive systems engineers on your start-up but also use central project managers who are familiar with your industry and applications.
Global Drive Systems commissioning engineers average 15 years of drives experience. These engineers work with a dedicated site manager who becomes the focal point of your project locally. Site managers are supported by our factory-based, industry-focused project managers who leverage their industry and application knowledge along with the Rockwell Automation factory resources to make certain that your project starts up on time and in budget.
What You Can Expect From Our Commissioning
- Installation Verification — The commissioning team will check for shipping damage, confirm that wiring and grounding guidelines have been followed and that the terminations are secure.
- Hardware Set-up — We will manage the initial application of power, verify that communications is established and that the initial parameters are loaded. The engineer will also tune each drive section.
- System Integration — After the master software checkout, we will run the machine both with and without product
- Production Coverage — In order to verify production we will run the product mix to identify additional system fine tuning necessary. We then run an acceptance test.
- What is a site manager — Our site manager acts as your focal point during commissioning executing the project plan, attending pre-installation meetings and submitting the weekly site reports. The site manager will identify any technical or manpower issues, assist with hardware and software checkout and facilitates the implementation of improvements and changes. The site manager's focus is to ensure that we are communicating with you at every step in the project.
- Project Plan — The project plan will identify milestones and critical paths while minimizing manpower loading and scheduling conflicts. This plan is custom tailored to fit your scheduling needs and becomes the basis for regular project status reports. In addition to defining the installation and production schedules, your project plan will provide an estimated "in production" date.
- Pre-Installation Meeting — Rockwell Automation feels that a pre-installation meeting is critical for a successful project. This meeting is an opportunity for the project team to meet, discuss the project scope and any pre-installation or startup concerns they may have. Through the discussion of installation practices and wiring and grounding guidelines, there is less chance for installation errors and rework. At this time the team can identify long term support needs.
